Nitro Circus World First quadruple double backflip train

Nitro Circus World First quadruple double backflip train

And we are back with another edition of the VLOG, as described in this BLOG. This time, in real time, a behind the scenes look at how one of the biggest moments in action sports, went down.

On a personal level, this was pretty close to the biggest moment in my professional career. Months of planning went in to this, and the frustrations were running deep when not once, not twice, but three times, it was delayed due to Covid/border issues, so the overwhelming feeling I had once we nailed this world's first was relief.

The VLOG is a joke and makes fun of the real world of vlogging, but make no mistake, this day was no fucken joke.

It all got a lot more real when my good friend of 14 plus years Jacko Strong went down on his double back flip 'warm up' jump.

The FMX world has changed a lot in my almost 17 years in it. I remember where I was sitting when Travis Pastrana landed the world's first double back flip at the 2006 X Games.

I witnessed Josh Sheehan, Cam Sinclair and the man who rode in gardening gloves, Scott Murray, land their first double back flips, and I have had the honor of the legend Pastrana himself "un'retire" from double back flipping on multiple occasions.

I dont know the exact number of people in the world that can double back flip these days, but it wouldn't be more than 50, so to have 4 great mates of mine in Clint Moore, Jacko, Josh Sheehan, and legendary previous podcast guest Harry Bink, take on this gnarly idea we had to promote Nitro World Games, fuck me, I dont know what else to say other than being grateful for having people like this in my life. Listen to this guy....

I can't thank these 4 legends enough. Toddy Meyn and Ryan Williams were also huge hustlers to make this happen. BMX royalty one day, track and signage crew the next. This is what the Nitro tour is all about. Everyone doing stuff.

Its been such a trip being back on the road for work for the first time in 14 months, since Covid hit, and this world first stunt was the icing on the cake of a special 4 days. There is a lot more to be done, and a lot more to be written and vlogged about, so don't worry, I am not going to go too much deeper in this Blog. But the Blogfather will return. As will the VLOGfather (that's me for those of you playing at home).

Shout out to the legends behind the scenes that helped make this happen, particularly the weapon team with me on the road. You will get your proper recognition at the end of this whirlwind film trip.

Thank you to Nitro Circus for entrusting me with the biggest and most rewarding projecting of my working career. Especially my best mate Dov, who has believed in me since day 1, that I could handle this shit. I think I have, for the most part, lol.

And I got to give a shout out to my 32 weeks pregnant partner Jamie, as she has had the patience of a saint these past couple of months as I have been an absolute mad man around the house, planning this trip, and in particular this stunt.

Its so good to be back doing what I love. Making memories with great humans, spreading the good word of action sports, and hopefully putting some bums on seats when Nitro World Games hits Suncorp Stadium in October.

Brown, out.
